Marti Leroux, Canada
Marti started drawing at a very young age. As a child she could colour and look at art books for hours. Her childhood home was filled with art books such as, Rembrandt, Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec etc. Her father & sister are also artists and art was a favourite subject around the house. As she got a bit older she explored different mediums such as pastels, coloured pencils, and sculpture and now she paints in oil and in mixed media.
Marti had two passions growing up, music & the visual arts. It was a difficult choice for her after high school choosing what to study, the visual arts or music. She chose to study classical music at Vanier College. She sang opera during the week & was a lead singer in a rock band on weekends. She played a few instruments such as, the violin, the flute and a little bit of piano.
Luckily the visual arts was always a big part of her life. She met her husband at a very young age and felt an art career was better suited to married & family life. She then left her music career to pursue her dream as a visual artist.
Marti is a self taught artist. Her work is held in private and public collections throughout North America.
